Activate Learning Staff to Run Surrey Half Marathon for Mental Health Initiative

Sunday 8 September, staff and supporters from Activate Learning will lace up their trainers for the Surrey Half Marathon to raise funds for MindGreen, a mental health initiative dedicated to supporting students and staff across the educational group’s campuses.

Among the runners will be Activate Learning’s CEO, Gary Headland DL, and Chair of the Corporation, Sue Sturgeon, alongside other staff and patrons who have been training throughout the summer. The team will take on the 13-mile route starting from Woking Park at 9 am, aiming to raise vital funds for – an initiative that has quickly become central to Activate Learning’s commitment to mental well being.

Launched just over a year ago, was established to foster a culture of mental wellness within Activate Learning. The initiative provides essential resources and support to students and staff across the group’s campuses in Surrey, Berkshire, and Oxfordshire, as well as national apprentices and online learners.

’s mission aligns with Activate Learning’s vision to create an environment where students and staff can thrive both academically and personally. By focusing on mental health, ensures that no one in the community feels alone when facing mental health challenges.

Support the Team and Make a Difference

The community is encouraged to line the route to cheer on the runners as they tackle the half marathon. Spectators can catch the team at various points along the course, providing much-needed encouragement as they push through the miles for a worthy cause.
